Grounding SCOPE’s work towards a new economy for South Los Angeles is the Los Angeles Equity Alliance (LAEA), a coalition of South L.A. community-based organizations that advocate for affordable housing, active transportation, workforce development, park access, health and environmental justice. These organizations are TRUST South L.A., Physicians for Social Responsibility-Los Angeles, Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust, L.A. Black Workers Center, Strategic Actions for a Just Economy, and Communities for a Better Environment. Together, the alliance organizations work to develop grassroots leaders and advocates for equitable development and climate resiliency in South L.A.
Whether it’s building a base of engaged South L.A. residents, pushing for increased investment in our communities, or shaping community-led climate solutions like Transformative Climate Communities, the LAEA is working to make sure that policy and investment decisions uplift the communities that need it the most.
