Covid-19 Efforts | Senior Care Packages

As COVID-19 rates continue to rise in our county, SCOPE is dedicated to finding safe, alternative ways to help the South LA community. Since the onset of the pandemic, it has been confirmed that the elderly are at a higher risk of infection—meaning, simple everyday errands have become a threat to those with pre-existing conditions and those 55 and older. Taking various health precautions and using strict social distancing methods, SCOPE organizers and community leaders packaged toiletries and other household items to be distributed to those in need. Leading up to the delivery of the care packages, volunteers made hundreds of phone calls to South LA residents to see who needed emergency resources. With excitement and gratitude, many agreed and those who declined extended the opportunity to neighbors, friends, or family members who needed a helping hand. Through unity and community efforts, we were able to deliver 150 senior care packages within the Los Angeles area.

With numbers on the rise, SCOPE encourages everyone to remain at home when possible and to follow social distancing guidelines when in public. For visibility into SCOPE’s Covid-19 efforts, please refer to the infographic below:
